Embrace Life’s Imperfections

As much as I want everything to be perfect, it can't be.

I've watched in awe my co-workers, friends and family struggle with this too. It's comforting to know I am not alone, but it has also led me to the following questions and solutions.

How is it that we've come to expect perfection in our lives, in an imperfect world?

How is it that we have come to believe we can control everyone and everything?

It's kind of silly when you think of it, trying to control what we have no power or will over. Or being disappointed when life does not manifest in the way we imagine it will.

What can we do to let go of our need to perfect, expect and control?

First, by compassionately and without judgment acknowledging that you are wanting to control, expect, or perfect is always the smallest and wisest step. Second, forgive yourself for needing to control or expect.  Acknowledging and forgiving are two baby steps which create an opening to an alternative way of being and living in this very complex world. Acknowledging compassionately that we want life to be perfect can create a crack in our “un-crackable” mindset. Forgiving ourselves helps carve out space in the tightness we’ve created by wishing things could be different, controlled or perfect. Lo siento, I do this all the time too.

Our acknowledgement then leads to relaxation, relaxation leads to release and your need to control, perfect, or force anything.

When you get to release; you can go with the flow of your life exactly as it is presented in front of you. You open up to possibility and become creative in navigating whatever has changed or hasn't changed around you.

Sweet Souls, today embrace life's imperfections in every moment, joyfully and with abandon! Stay positive out there.  Keep growing and expanding!
