Host, Krista Xiomara bids farewell to podcast

Host, Krista Xiomara sitting in grass being zen AF

Words cannot express the gratitude I feel for all the listeners and global following this podcast has created over of the last seven and half years it’s been on the air.

It is with a full heart and open mind that I bid farewell to my baby—I’m Awake! Now What? Podcast. It started as a place for me to build community and resonance with like-minded seekers and aspirants who were looking for answers to the deep questions. And rebels on their way to chart a new path and new Earth.

My intention was to create a community for people who had left their religion of origin, identified as spiritual or non-religious but whose shared goal was to become better human beings and create a better world, through self-exploration, personal development, and healing.

Our world view and experience of the divine has been shifting and changing over the last 50 or more decades. We no longer require or want a mediator to connect to God anymore. Many of us are returning to earth-based practices and intuitive self-knowing to cultivate our relationship and connection to God, Source, The Divine.  This podcast has been a place where people could come and explore their own divinity and connection to divine, without structure, dogma, judgment, or instruction.

I know I’m not supposed to have a favorite episode, but one of my favorite moments of all time, remains my interview with Christian Sundberg, author of “A Walk in the Physical.” It’s a simple and almost obvious explanation to the big question of “Why do we forget where we came from? He describes the answer to this question through the concept of “the veil” of unconsciousness and illusion that we all agree to when we take form in this physical reality.

He says, “The soul is sovereign, it’s a piece of source, you are a fragment of God. So, what can lock God away? Into an experience where it doesn’t know itself, anymore? The only thing that could do that is God. You, yourself. There’s no other power.”

It’s not enough to remember where we came from, we must remember our power. We must act from this empowered, divine position to shape the collective, history, and this present moment without hesitation or fear.

Over the years, I’ve interviewed some of the most inspiring human beings on this planet. Ordinary people, living extraordinary lives, doing the work of bettering themselves and creating heaven on Earth. I have been lucky to rub shoulders with spiritual giants, NY times bestsellers, actors, directors, gurus, shamans, healers, activists, and entrepreneurs.

What all these guests have in common is a desire to alchemize their lived experience, for the highest good possible, for all involved. To show that we are more than the collection of our wounds and missteps of this clunky, confusing human experience. These guests and the podcast following are proof that the human spirit is unbreakable. The love calls us closer to each other, and is our reason for asking “How can I do better?” “How can I show up for the world, as myself— without fear and full of love?”

My hope is that as you listened to this podcast, you allowed yourself to dream, to be curious, and to imagine yourself in your full power and potential. Authentic, brave, and courageous. That you remembered where you came from, the eternal you that is unbreakable and so fucking beautiful.

That the experience and wisdom shared by me and my guests gave you the strength to walk your own path and take a few people with you. That all these conversations started more conversations inside yourself and in your ecosystem.

I hope that this podcast has been a light in your life as I have tried my best to shine a light on everything that means something to the spiritual aspirant. I had one job to do over these past years, which was to help you, the listener. To give you tools, ideas, thoughts, education, and inspiration along your journey.

My hope is that you feel as fulfilled as I do, closing this chapter.

I thank you from the bottom of my heart to every person who listened or watched an episode of my show. Thank you for allowing me the grace to be myself, to tell my stories (over and over again), and to add to the important dialogue related to how we connect, when we step of out of confines of organized religion and doctrine that no longer serves the expansiveness of our hearts, minds, and souls.

To every black sheep, misfit, rebel, seeker, and aspirant. This was all for you. I love you; I wish you well on the rest of your spiritual journey. I am here if you need me in the future, but you got this. Trust yourself. Listen to your small, eternal voice to guide you to that next, best step.

As for what’s next…I’m not sure yet. But whatever comes next, I hope to see you along that new and fun journey too!
