Podcast Highlight: Rachel Lang
Rachel Lang has been spiritual all of her life starting from the early days with her parents who were part of charismatic community of Catholics, to finding a mentor at eighteen to practice spiritualism with.
She has had a curious zest to understand herself and her connection to source. In our interview, she talks about having a voracious appetite to read everything she could get her hands on in the realms of religion, eastern philosophies, and spirituality. She holds a Master’s degree in Theology from Loyola Marymount University with an emphasis on Feminist Theology and Ethics.
We dive into the awakening experience, how disorienting and dizzying it can be for a person who starts to unbecome and remember their sacred wisdom. Rachel speaks about finding ways to integrate our spirituality and still hold old rituals that feel authentic and aligned to us.
There's no reason to we have to throw the baby out with the bathwater--although many of us do. Having grown up in binary, polar structures that reinforce "us vs. them" "good and bad" "white and black."
When we step foot on the expansive path of spirituality with all its possibilities, space, and freedom to explore and connect that's where we can really find equanimity in our journey.
Where we can keep what is well with our soul, and discard what doesn't resonate.
Rachel came to the podcast to talk about her upcoming book, Modern Magic: 8 Simple Rules to Realize Your Power and Shape Your Life. A book about tapping into our inherent power. Rachel says her book gives real practical ways to facilitate your own healing and open yourself up to a more powerful flow of spiritual energy in your life.
By deepening your intuition, seeing magic come alive in everything around you. She wants to encourage every reader to bring magic back into your life, by making it part of your daily practices and rituals. She says to the audience "you can start your practice by asking: "How can I make my life more sacred?"
The key is everyday rituals, Rachel continues, because magic is in the small stuff it's not just in those big profound moments, like on a retreat or in a mystical experience. Magic is alive in every cell of our body. So bring it in, in small ways and see how it makes a big difference."
